The foundations of six West Midlands football clubs are to join together to support the launch of the Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust.
February 9 would have marked the 61st birthday of the England and West Brom legend, who passed away unexpectedly in January 2018.
Over the last few months, Cyrille’s family have been preparing for the forthcoming launch of the Legacy Trust, which aims to provide a fitting and permanent tribute to the striker who also played for Coventry, Aston Villa and Wolves.
Cyrille’s brother Dave Regis, the former Stoke City footballer, said: “We are pleased to announce that members of the Regis family have set up a charity to continue Cyrille’s legacy and impact in football and the community.
“The Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust will be launched with an exciting project in partnership with the foundations of six leading West Midlands clubs, and will be a wonderful tribute to Cyrille and more importantly, influence the lives of local young people.
“We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks. Watch this space.”
