The 'Sport Unites Insights' Webinar Series has been launched this week by the Mayor of London in partnership with Impact inFocus.
The series, which comprises five webinars during the fortnight September 1 to 15, is responding to research from the GLA (Greater London Authority) that organisations within the community sport sector are interested in having a space or platform to share best practice and learn from each other.
Impact inFocus is an impact and insight consultancy that aims to provide practical and effective impact measurement and management solutions. Managing Director Damian Hatton said: "It has been a privilege this week to listen to the many stories and experiences from the dedicated professionals across London, who are applying their creativity and expertise to address some of the biggest issues facing Londoners, through the power of sport.
"Insights have come thick and fast, with great tips on how to ensure lasting impact through the Mayor’s Sport Unites investment fund. The GLA team are also listening hard to incorporate the collective wisdom of the group into the next phase of the programme. We are really excited about the next three webinars in the series still to come!"
The fortnight has five conversations aligned to the five Sport Unites social outcome areas:
Tuesday 1 September (1000-1130) – Enhancing social mixing / reducing social isolation through sport and physical activity
Thursday 3 September (1000-1130) – Sport, physical activity and mental health / wellbeing
Tuesday 8 September (1000-1130) – Decreasing inactivity levels
Thursday 10 September (1000-1130) – Tackling serious youth violence through sport and physical activity
Tuesday 15 September (1000-1130) – Building the capacity of London’s community sport workforce
The series will also aim to ensure that the voice of London’s community sport sector is included in the future direction of the Sport Unites investment fund.
