Replay webinar on Sport England strategy

Sport England have published a recent webinar in which CEO Tim Hollingsworth discussed its next four-year strategy, and asked for feedback on it.

The funding body say the online broadcast ‘Shaping our Future Strategy’, which took place on January 13, aimed to “inform and engage existing and potential partners” in the development of future plans to “transform lives through sport and physical activity”.

During the webinar, Chief Executive Tim Hollingsworth shared the phases of work which Sport England is going through to develop its next strategy, and highlighted the themes that are emerging from the process so far.

Tim was joined by Andy Reed, the new Chair of the Sport for Development Coalition, to discuss some of the key considerations and challenges to this work, and there was dedicated time for webinar attendees to ask questions.

You can also watch Tim speak (below) about Sport England's future strategy at a recent Why Sports conference.

Meanwhile Sport England has announced some changes to its Small Grants programme. Some of the changes impact on potential football projects. Click here for details on the new programme as well as examples of football-related investment.

As highlighted on the website, Sport England will prioritise projects that are working with people from lower socio-economic groups and that seek to address identified barriers to participation in football. Theoretical case studies have been produced – one for walking football and one for ‘recreational’ football.
