Scottish Premiership club Hearts have launched their ‘Go Digital’ project to improve the online skills of adults at risk of social isolation.
The club’s charity arm 'Big Hearts' are targeting some of the 800,000 people in Scotland that lack essential digital skills such as using emails and online banking, increasing the likelihood of inequality.
The campaign will run throughout the next year at Hearts’ Tynecastle Stadium after receiving £8,276 of funding from SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) Digital Charter Fund.
They are on the lookout for a team of Volunteer Digital Champions who will engage on a range of projects for Big Hearts, including the Go Digital campaign.
The Champions will have dedicated training so they provide tailor-made online support for each person’s needs. This could be using online banking, email, transport or entertainment apps such as Spotify and BBC iPlayer.
