England Athletics is staging #RunAndTalk week between September 23 and 29, with the aim of improving people's mental wellbeing through running.
Supported by the mental health charity Mind, the campaign also aims to break down the stigma associated with mental health by getting people talking.
This year #RunAndTalk places a specific focus on men’s mental health as research shows that men are less likely than women to report severe symptoms of common mental health problems.
In addition, suicide is the leading cause of death for people aged 20 to 34 years old, and the biggest killer of men under the age of 50.
Through a digital campaign, England Athletics is encouraging everyone to take the men in their lives – maybe a partner, dad, brother, son or friend – and run one mile or further whilst having a chat.
People can take part either by running with partners, friends, family or colleagues at a time and location of their choice, or by joining one of the organised #RunAndTalk runs at an England Athletics club, RunTogether group or other organisation.
