The head of Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST) has spoken of his pride at how his “amazing team” adapted and continued to support local, vulnerable people over the last 15 months.
Jamie Noble was speaking as the Trust released its annual impact report which provides an excellent overview of the projects and services which the football club provides, including in some of the most deprived areas of the South Yorkshire town.
PROVISION
The Trust has been operating for more than 12 years, and has become highly regarded for post-16 college and youth work, its health and wellbeing work in and around the AESSEAL New York Stadium, how it brings together of the many diverse communities in the area and its work in local schools.
Jamie said: “Despite many ups and downs, as a Trust, we managed to successfully adapt our provision to ensure the best possible experience for all our participants.
“This report will identify the impact that our programmes have had on the local community in the past year, and it demonstrates how my amazing team of staff adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic to support those who are vulnerable within our community. I am extremely proud and I cannot thank them enough.”
He added: “We must also pass on our sincere thanks to all our key stakeholders both locally, regionally and nationally who have continued to support us and keep believing in our strength of presence in the town.
CONNECTED
“Finally, a huge thank you to the players and staff of Rotherham United and our connected companies. We do not see ourselves as a separate organisation, we are one string of a finely-tuned instrument that when working together plays the most amazing tune.
“It is a pleasure to be connected to such a fantastic football club and we look forward to many more years ahead.”
