Northumberland FA is a registered charity with the core purpose of ‘Inspiring all to play Football’. The association is responsible for the administration and sanctioning of the many leagues in the area as well as being the point of contact for all football matters in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.
The County FA run courses throughout the year to assist with the development of the game in the area and are based out of their headquarters at Whitley Park, home of Newcastle United U23s and Northumberland FA U18s, who both attract a substantial amount interest both on a local and national level.
Fourteen county cup finals are played throughout the months of April and May with the flagship competition, the Northumberland Senior Cup, being held at the 52,000 capacity St James’ Park in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The association were founded in 1883 and continue to grow the game in one of the most passionate footballing counties in the country.
