London Otters Rowing Club
The UK's LGBTQI+ inclusive rowing club

Our mission is to increase the profile of both competitive and recreational LGBTQI+ rowing within the sporting community. We've come a long way from our roots in 2014 when we owned no equipment whatsoever. Over the past few years we've managed to acquire equipment for our members to use for training and racing, ranging from eights to quads and pairs. As well as our own equipment, our base at the Royal Docks Adventure provides facilities such as an indoor rowing tank.

At the London Otters Rowing Club we pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming club that helps people achieve their potential. The vast majority of our members had never rowed before joining us; the courses we run each year have taught hundreds of new rowers to become comfortable on the water, through to racing at British Rowing events.

We have a number of squads divided by both technical ability and the level of time and effort people can commit - we appreciate that not everyone can train for hours every day! Overall our priority is on having an enjoyable time on and off the water, while providing support for those who want to really show what they can do in competitive events.

Coaching is provided both by experienced professional staff and internally-trained members. We also train coxes in-house, and are always on the lookout for people who would like to work towards either type of role.
