Lea Rowing Club

Lea Rowing Club is an inclusive club that encourages young people from all backgrounds to join the junior squads and schools programme. We believe taking part in sport can change lives and that rowing provides the enjoyment, teamwork and discipline to support positive mental health for young people. We have excellent relationships with local authorities, charities and other groups aiming to introduce young people to the sport of rowing.

Juniors who would like to row recreationally can join our Junior Club Squad, and those who want to row competitively can join our Girls’/Boys’ Performance Squads. Each part of the squad structure has been created to ensure that junior rowers will receive the best possible attention and the feeling of being at the right place, with opportunities to move between these squads.

Our Schools Programme aims to work with schools in the local community. We have worked with young people who have a wide range of disabilities including severe visual impairments, autism and Down's syndrome. Scholarships have been awarded to students from schools in some of the most deprived areas of London. The Schools' programme also works with local charities that are aiming to provide support for disengaged young people enabling them to experience rowing and with encouragement and support, go on to join the club.
